Examples of my student's work

During Science we studied classification and the animal kingdom. The class was then assigned a group research project. Each group was assigned one of the five animal classes. They were given a rubric with the required information. They researched their animal class using library books, approved internet resources, and their fourth grade science book. They then gathered their information and presented it on a poster board.

While filling in for a maternity leave at IPS #79 the children were assigned a Habitat Project. They were to write a paragraph about their selected habitat and then create a shoebox diorama showing their habitat.

While teaching 6th grade the class did a novel study on the book Number the Stars. After completing the novel each student was assigned a final project. There were six projects to choose from. Here are pictures of two student's newspapers, the Die Frie Danske.

Another option was to create a journal of one of the main characters. One student chose to create a journal written by Annemarie Johansen.

















In Social Studies we learned about the history of Europe in four different time periods (Classical, Medieval, Early Modern, and Modern). The class was divided into 4 groups and presented the information on their group poster boards. These are two examples.
